Which Products & Why

With a huge array of cleaning products lining supermarket shelves, it can be really difficult to choose which products to keep under your kitchen sink. I supply all of the cleaning products and equipment for my clients and spend a lot of time carefully selecting and testing out cleaning products to ensure that I only use the very best. Here are some of my favourites...

For general, every day cleaning, I like to use Method products. I love Method as their products use cutting-edge green chemistry to produce great results. They smell amazing, are cruelty free, use responsibly sourced natural and plant based ingredients and packaging made from recycled plastic with refills available. They are also free of parabens and phosphates and are safe to use around pets. Other eco friendly brands I like include Delphis, Ecover, Fabulosa and Astonish.

For more specialised cleaning tasks, some other products and brands that I like include Bar Keepers Friend, Brasso, Elbow Grease, HG, Kilrock, The Pink Stuff, Town Talk, Ubik, Urika, Wood Silk and Zoflora. Even Fairy liquid can be a really useful multipurpose cleaner. My favourite professional cleaning range is by Clover, who manufacture a huge range of bulk buy cleaning chemicals. If you like products with a strong, clean smell, then it's worth checking out products from Spanish cleaning brands such as Asevi, Brumol and Las 3 Brujas.

As well as shop bought products, I also use a few homemade products using natural ingredients such as lemon, orange peel, citric acid, bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar. Sometimes the old ways are the best! And remember that persistence pays off when cleaning. I don't always find the right product first time round, but taking a moment and showing patience means I can often win.

When it comes to cleaning cloths, I like to use E-Cloth and Minky cloths (I keep a supply for each client's home which are thoroughly disinfected and cleaned through a hot wash after every clean). For more specialised cleaning, some of the other products I like include Flash Magic Eraser, Scrub Daddy and a good old fashioned toothbrush. I carry fully collapsible eco mops with fresh mop heads in my kit to protect and clean your floors. I'm a real big advocate of spray mops as they reduce water waste and they are so much better to maintain laminate and hardwood floors with than wring mops. It means I can clean better and do even more for the environment which is what I am all about! Not having the right tools and equipment for any job can lead to inefficient, slow work that might also result in incorrect completion of a task, which we all obviously want to avoid.

My vacuum cleaner of choice is Dyson. I have tested out lots of different vacuum cleaners over the years and for me, nothing beats the cleaning power, versatility and easy maintenance of a Dyson upright. If you are one of my clients and you don't already have one in your home, I can supply one!
